Forum Title: Moen Shower Faucet - Unusual Set-Up
I went to replace a Moen cartridge in my single handle shower faucet expecting this to be fairly easy. The problem I'm having is removing the round piece in front of the stop tube (unsure if that is the correct name) in the upper picture. When I try pulling it towards me to remove it, the water turns on like they are connected together some how. The bottom picture shows the the type of faucet Any help would be appreciated - Thanks

Johnjh2o, Thanks for the information - worked like a charm - I'm always cautious pulling too hard on plumbing fixtures Chris

I haven't ever saw a Moen control with a built in diverted like that before!

It looks like it's a handle extension. It should just pull off. Turn the water off first.
